poco.lit.’s new project for 2024: [poco.lit. space]
Thanks to the kind support of the Lotto Foundation Berlin, we will start a new project next year: [poco.lit. space]. The project builds on poco.lit.’s previous work. In articles, at public events and in more intimate workshop settings, we will zoom in on some aspects of postcolonialism. Over the course of twelve months, we will focus on three thematic blocks, which we will announce soon. Thanks to the funding, we can provide space for different voices; we will highlight diverse perspectives on postcolonial literatures and cultures.
The project consists of three building blocks:
[theoretical space]: In the online magazine, we will publish your submissions – reviews, essays and interviews. Every few months, we will share an open call announcing the upcoming theme. Contributions will be remunerated, but reading the online magazine will of course remain free of charge.
[adding space]: We will host a number of public events in Berlin or online to put artists, activists and academics in conversation with each other. poco.lit. does not have its own space. Therefore, we will use existing infrastructure and add space for our events.
[creating space]: In interactive workshops, we explore the idea of creating space. By analysing the effects of power dynamics and the structures behind them, we will look at positionality, language, discrimination and much more.
We are very excited and look forward to exchanging ideas, inspiring encounters and discussions.
